Terms of use

These terms apply to the MemSpark app and the memspark.app service, operated by Caffeinated Code d.o.o. ("we"). Downloads from the App Store are additionally governed by Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement; where the two conflict for an App Store purchase, Apple's EULA controls.

The service

MemSpark is a spaced-repetition study app. Import any Anki deck of any size, the study loop, FSRS-6, undo, Today briefing, basic stats, card and progress sync across devices, browsing and adding shared decks, reading cards aloud and auto-play audio are free forever. Free also includes the card browser to search, filter, open and edit any card, and swipe to suspend, flag or delete. Every import gets a deck doctor report covering empty answers, broken cloze, duplicates, similar cards, missing media, cards without a deck and empty formatting. The Anki settings translator puts your deck options in plain English, keep yours or use ours. Export any deck or your whole library as an Anki .apkg, and keep backups with your latest cloud restore point. Free also includes iPad layouts and the same app on Apple Silicon Macs, pointer and hover support, Home and Lock Screen widgets with today's due count and streak, sharing a page, PDF, photo or file from any app straight into MemSpark, a camera source in Generate, a Why? button that explains a card in one line from your AI allowance, a two-screen onboarding, and a curated catalog of shared decks with categories, licences and 12 starter decks. Free includes 100 AI cards a month and 1 GB of cloud media. Pro is a one-time purchase of $29.99 (US), with Family Sharing included. It adds studying the most important cards first when you fall behind, with reasons, Take a break, Spread reviews and vacation planning, Insights into your progress and what is ahead, accent themes, and publishing and updating shared decks, yours forever. Batch edits let you move, tag, suspend, flag or delete many cards at once. Fast cloze tools and hand-drawn image occlusion masks let you hide one or hide all. Exam mode adds a date per deck, a readiness estimate and overdue spread to be ready in time. Insights adds a know-by-date forecast for 30, 60, 90 days or your exam, and two streak freezes a month. Pro also adds interactive widgets with Study and Snooze and a Live Activity that tracks your session on the Lock Screen, iPad split view with the browser and editor side by side and Apple Pencil masks, and review by voice with AirPods, with the question read aloud and the answer and grade spoken. Plus is $29.99 a year with a 7-day free trial, or $4.99 a month (US). It adds 2,000 AI cards a month, 5 GB of cloud media, cards from PDFs, photos, audio, links and diagrams, AI-suggested occlusion areas, and updates to shared decks you added. Plus also includes deck doctor AI fixes, reviewed before saving, and 30 days of cloud restore points. Plus includes Pro while you subscribe. Buy Pro only if you want to keep it without Plus.

Subscriptions

• Pro is a one-time purchase of $29.99 (US), with Family Sharing included. Plus is offered as an annual plan at $29.99/year (with a 7-day free trial) or a monthly plan at $4.99/month (US). The exact price is always shown in the app before you buy, in your local currency. Prices in USD. Local prices vary, roughly half in India, Brazil, Turkey, Indonesia, Mexico and the Philippines. Plus includes Pro while you subscribe. Buy Pro only if you want to keep it without Plus.
• After importing a deck, you get a one-time 7-day Pro and Plus preview. No card, nothing to cancel. Nothing you import or make is ever locked or deleted when a preview or subscription ends. Local study never needs a purchase or a connection.
• Trial terms are exactly as shown at purchase: 7 days free, then the annual price. Cancel anytime, if you cancel before the trial ends, you are not charged.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Payment is charged to your Apple account; manage or cancel in iOS Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions, at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
• Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Your content

Your decks, cards, and media are yours. You give us only the license needed to store and sync them for you. Do not upload content you have no right to use, and do not use MemSpark to distribute copyrighted deck content without permission.

AI-generated content

AI-generated cards can contain mistakes. Review generated cards before relying on them, especially for medical, legal, or safety-critical study. You are responsible for what you keep.

Fair use

AI generation on the free tier is quota-limited, and Plus is subject to fair-use limits that exist only to prevent abuse. Do not attempt to break, probe, or overload the service, resell access, or use it to build a competing dataset.

Warranty and liability

MemSpark is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages; our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, or your statutory consumer rights.

Termination

You can stop using MemSpark and delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend accounts that break these terms; where reasonable we will warn you first.

Changes

If these terms change in a way that matters, we will say so in the app before the change takes effect. Continuing to use MemSpark after that means you accept the new terms.
